A WEST FIFE 15-year-old boy was picked up by police after being found to be drinking and girl of the same age has been reported for drugs offences.

The detections by officers came during a campaign to combat anti-social behaviour dubbed Safer Neighbourhoods for Summer.

Four other youths have been reported in connection with vandalising cars in the Rosyth area and a further three also for drugs offences.

Some 18 litres of alcohol were seized during the operation which specifically targeted under-age drinking in the West Fife villages.

Sergeant Roger Bond of Fife police said he hoped the campaign would show under-age drinkers that they will be caught and warned parents to keep an eye on their kids.

“We know that youth disorder and anti-social behaviour are among the main concerns of residents in this area,” he said.
