Dunfermline man wows Britain's Got Talent with Ferrero Rocher record attempt

WHEN Dunfermline man James Boyd belted out a Joseph song at an audition for ITV"s Britain"s Got Talent recently, he had a little extra up his multicoloured sleeve.

For he also attempted to wow producers by attempting to break the world record for eating as many Ferrero Rocher chocolates as he could in a minute.

And he impressed producers so much that they have earmarked him to re-appear at the official auditions to be held early next year in Glasgow.

There he will sing "Close Every Door" from the hit musical Joseph.

But it will surely be his latest eating attempt that will prove either a big hit or a glaring miss for judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Piers Morgan.

The bizarre attempt comes after the Carnegie College Dramatic Arts student failed to smash the grape-guzzling world record earlier this year, when he blamed the 'wrong size of grape'.

Not so with the consistently-shaped faux-posh popular dinner-party sweet ... James claims to have matched the world record by eating six in a minute.

James (33), Arthur Street, said, 'I told the researcher I would be singing for my audition.

'She then asked me if I had any other talents and I told her I wouldn"t mind attempting to beat the record for how many Ferrero Rocher can be eaten in a minute.

'I quite enjoyed it, but was a bag of nerves.'

James was then filmed and interviewed. He added, 'There were all types of people at the audition - guitarists, Irish dancers and even a Marilyn Monroe lookalike.

'I can"t wait to perform in front of the judges and hopefully obtain a career in either singing or acting professionally.'

The most Ferrero Rocher chocolates eaten in one minute is six, a world record set in April by Shaun Slator on the set of The Paul O"Grady Show.

It has since been equalled three times.
