What is Green Business Fife all about?
Harnessing the commitment of many public and private organisations Green Business Fife aims to make a difference across the Kingdom. Here are the facts:
Green Business Fife - a business environmental network in Fife, aimed at
• Improving productivity and competitiveness through smarter use of resources
• Taking advantage of the real business opportunities, which will emerge from a greater commitment to sustainable development
• Promoting and delivering a constructive range of local solutions, which significantly contribute to sustainable economic development in Fife.
Q: What do financial services, construction, food & drink, agriculture, engineering and technology sectors have in common?

Green Business Fife is funded by Fife Council and supported by a range of agencies, including Scottish Enterprise, Business Gateway, Business Environment Partnership, Energy Saving Trust, Envirowise, SEPA, NISP, WRAP and the Carbon Trust.
Results
In the 18 months since Green Business Fife’s formation, the range of local initiatives implemented by the Network has significantly contributed to improved environmental performance by:
• The development of the Green Business Fife website which provides a single point of access to all related support.
• The development of Fife’s first dedicated Environmental Awards Programme
• Diversion of waste from landfill
• Reduction of Co2 emissions
• Achievement of business cost reductions
• Online guide to agency support on many aspects of environmental performance and legislation
• Significantly increased communication and best practice sharing within the business community in Fife, including more than 500 participants at workshops and seminars.
• A stronger, more productive dialogue between public and private sectors on relevant environmental issues.
