Pars chief on strikers link
Calum Elliot in action for Hearts against the Pars in last season's CIS Cup clash between the pair at Tynecastle.
RECENT rumours linking the Pars with a variety of strikers are wide of the mark, according to chairman John Yorkston.
Hearts striker Calum Elliot, Dundee United’s David Goodwillie and Inverness frontman Graham Bayne have all been linked with moves to East End Park in recent weeks.
But Yorkston told Press Sport this week, “Some of these are just not going to happen. It’s as simple as that.
“It’s well known that we are looking for three forwards so obviously, folk start mentioning forwards’ names. That’s it.”
Yorkston said the club were not close at the moment to adding to the signings of Steven Bell, Graeme Holmes and Austin McCann, who were unveiled at East End last month.
The chairman confirmed boss Jim McIntyre might look at loan signings in addition to permanent buys but couldn’t shed much more light on the Pars’ plans explaining, “We’re looking at everything but there’s nothing definite yet.”
It’s still unclear who the Pars will play on their pre-season trip to Austria and, as yet, there have been no new games added to the club’s pre-season friendlies against Dundee United and Hearts next month.
