RUNNERS from Carnegie Harriers hit new heights at the weekend – the club’s men’s team won the Scottish Athletics Hill Running Championships.

Nine members of the club contested Saturday’s Dollar Hill race, which incorporated the championships.

All four Harriers in the men’s team finished the demanding 9.4-mile course in the top 30. Tommy Lawrence (pictured) was seventh in a time of 1:21.44 and he was followed by Richie Cunningham (22nd in 1:30.22), Kenny MacDonald (28th in 1:33.21) and Steven King (29th in 1:33.28) to clinch the title.

Alison West (1:58.07) excelled to win the gold medal in the ladies’ senior veteran category while Fabienne Thomson (1:47.06) won bronze in the F40 age group.
