FORGET David Beckham, a young footballer from Inverkeithing is making a big impact in US soccer.
As Press Sport reported in July, Rachael McQuade (above), from Manse Road, has been playing women’s college soccer in the States.
The former Dunfermline Athletic Ladies FC player has a soccer scholarship at Darton College, Georgia, and plays for Darton Cavaliers when she’s not studying PE.
Since our summer story, Rachael’s team has qualified for the national finals in Phoenix, Arizona.
She told Press Sport, “My team is doing awesome!
“I am also captain, which is a great honour.
"We are undefeated, having won all 21 games, and we won our region and district title so have earned the right to go to the national tournament.
“Only eight teams qualify in the whole nation and we have also been ranked No.1 in America for six straight weeks.”
