CHAIRMAN John Yorkston is to meet the fans who want to ‘Stand up for the Pars’.

A section of supporters have started a campaign to reintroduce a small section of terracing at East End Park to boost the atmosphere at home games.

They have started an online petition already signed by more than 140.

Yorkston has been quick to grant a meeting to discuss the issue with fans but the idea is probably a non-starter.

He told Press Sport, “I’m not for or against it but there are a number of factors to take into account.

“If we got back to the SPL, we wouldn’t be able to use that area.

“Also, which area of the ground do we use? Creating a standing area would be good for those wanting to stand but we need to make sure we’re not obscuring other folks’ view.

“If we made the middle section of the North Stand a standing area, for example, others in the North East and North West sections wouldn’t be able to see.

“It’s not just as simple as taking out x number of rows of seats because lines of sight come into it.

"The cost has got to be looked at. The sum of £50,000 has been mentioned but that could be a couple of players.

"We’ll see what comes up and what is suggested at the meeting.”
