“We flew back yesterday (Sunday) from Wales. I was there with Karen, Ewan and some friends. I had a really fantastic weekend.

"It was lovely and the wee boy loved it – we hardly seen him! We went to a two-day festival – something like the Highland Games. I just sat in the park enjoying myself.

"I actually drank alcohol at the weekend, it was only half pints of lager but it was just nice.

"We went to Legoland in Windsor the day after Ewan’s birthday (6th July) from Monday to Friday. It was really quite nice even though it rained.

"With most of the rides you get wet on them anyway so it doesn’t really matter! Ewan loved it. I got quite a few photographs of my wife and the bairn.

"We had a good barbecue for the bairn’s birthday at my brother-in-law’s in Hillend. It was a good day.

"We got Ewan a Nintendo Wii and a trampoline – he thought it was great! Even my wife beats me at the ten-pin bowling on the Wii – she’s the record holder averaging over 220 a game.

"We have been that busy with getting new windows put in in the house and with joiner’s work in the bathroom. We had Ewan at the zoo in Edinburgh and I’ve just been keeping the garden tidy which is giving me something to do.

"We are going to Majorca on Saturday for two weeks but I’ve had to go onto steroids – it’s the only way that I can fly.

"I’ve been taking them this week. I’ll just take one steroid a day until about Thursday and then I’ll start taking two. It’s just to help the pressure in my head.

"I’m looking forward to the football. I went to the Pars versus Dundee United game, it wasn’t that bad a game.

"It’s good to see that I have got the same speed as the defenders!

"The last game I was at was the Queen of the South game which was the last game of the season, but before that you would have to go back to January last year.

"I got a season ticket so I might go to some games around September. Jim Leishman told me if it’s cold he’ll put me in one of the rooms downstairs but I’ll go into the terracing beside my mates because it’s where I like.

"There’s an open mic day at The Elizabethan in Dunfermline on Sunday (from 2pm to 8pm) to raise money for Brain Tumour UK.

"There was a race night at the East End Inn on Saturday 5th July which I think raised just over £300. It was a really good night, I won the first race with a horse called Some Loser!

"I would like to thank the organisers of both events.

"I just live each day as it comes and just enjoy my life. I have taken golf back up and I go fishing – not that I ever catch a fish!”
