We'll step away for now, if you don't mind, from the shenanigans in this year's BB house to discuss this little nugget of news.

It turns out Jade Goody has accepted an offer to appear on Big Brother India. Oh yes. She of the 'Shilpa Poppadom' has plumped for this as the next step on the winding road of her career.

She has told the press that she agreed to do the show because she wanted to 'show the world' that she wasn't a racist. Nyuhuh. I'm sure the £100,000 she's being paid has nothing to do with it at all.

In another 'you couldn't make it up' twist, the Indian version of the show, known as Bigg Boss, will be hosted by... Shilpa Shetty.

This is really going to end badly. It's the televisual equivalent of giving her enough rope to hang herself as, inevitably, she ends up making comments about the food / culture / other ridiculous things.

Still, I suppose after the Celeb BB racism brouhaha she's not had many offers of work lately...
