ANOTHER of Britain"s top bands have confirmed they are coming to Dunfermline with The Enemy announcing a concert at the Alhambra on 14th March.
Tickets are now on sale for the gig, which is a likely sell-out given the huge crowds the band attract to their open air-appearances.
They have played T in the Park the last two years, the Glastonbury Festival and drew 16,000 to two concerts in their native Coventry earlier this year.
With The View (sold out), The Music, The Complete Stone Roses and Ocean Colour Scene appearing at Velocity before the end of the year and K.T. Tunstall spreading the word about the great atmosphere at the Alhambra since her gig there, Dunfermline is quickly establishing itself on the music map.
The night before they play the Alhambra, The Enemy will be playing Glasgow Barrowland and their tour will also include the Brixton Academy, another iconic live venue.
Their debut album "We"ll Live and Die in These Towns" went straight in at No.1 in the UK charts.
With top Abba tribute band Bjorn Again also lined up for 2nd March, Alhambra owner Bill Fletcher is delighted with the progress made in recent months in raising the profile of the venue.
'It can be hard at the start to convince people to come but with the success we"ve already had we can see we are now getting these big acts coming to Dunfermline, which is great for everyone here,' said Bill.
With the Alhambra Raw series of events now over, work is taking place on a stage fit-out and installing an in-house lighting system.
However, the arena bursts back to life on 8th November with Paul Gudgin"s Razz Big Band performing "Broadway Swings" featuring popular songs from the musicals.
That night will also see the launch of the "Friends of the Alhambra" group.
The venue will be open for the festive period with a busy programme set to be announced shortly.
No names are being given away until contracts are signed but a 'major international comedy star' is expected to be one of the main attractions.
The Alhambra will then close again for refurbishment work on the auditorium and toilets before re-opening in March.
