A TRIBUTE to one of the biggest voices in music is coming to Dunfermline on Friday, as the Alhambra Theatre hosts Whitney – Queen of the Night.

The award-winning show presents a stunning celebration of the music and life of one of the greatest singers of all time, Whitney Houston. With rising West End star Rebecca Freckleton delivering a powerhouse and breathtaking performance, the show is a magical rollercoaster ride through three decades of classic hits such as I Wanna Dance With Somebody, One Moment In Time and the iconic I Will Always Love You.

Leading lady Rebecca spoke to Press:On about taking on the momentous task of being Whitney and said: "I've been doing it for around six months now and it's been incredible. At first it was quite daunting stepping into her shoes – she has a big voice! But as time has gone on I'm more relaxed and more confident in what I'm portraying. I like to take the audience on a journey and have a good time and a party, it's a celebration of her life.

"It's a complete mix, we start with some of her earlier records and go right up to the more recent ones. My favourite is Run to You, it's an acapella and the audience goes so quiet you could hear a pin drop. But there's definitely songs to get people up out of their seats and the best thing about it is that everyone comes there to have a good time and sing along.

"It's always an amazing atmosphere, it's just electric. A lot of women come along and bring their boyfriends or husbands who might not think it's their thing but they get up as well! It's something for all generations."

The show takes place at 7.30pm on Friday, October 16 at the Alhambra Theatre. Tickets cost £21 and are available at the box office on 01383 740 384
