THE Royal Scottish National Orchestra returns to the Carnegie Hall on Saturday to welcome in the New Year in traditional Viennese style with a gala concert full of waltzes, polkas and marches, led by the music of the ‘Waltz Kings’ – the Strauss family.
Conductor James Clark and the Orchestra will be joined on-stage by Scottish Soprano, Nadine Livingston who will perform a selection of beautiful period songs and arias.
The evening will be filled with everypne’s Viennese favourites, including On the Beautiful Blue Danube, the Overture to Die Fledermaus, the Emperor Waltz and many, many more!
RSNO leader and conductor for the concert James Clark said, “I'm thrilled and delighted to be presenting and conducting the RSNO for my first visits to Arbroath and Langholm and for a welcome return to Dunfermline in our first concerts of the New Year.
"Viennese favourites, delicious highlights from the world of operetta together with one or two orchestral surprises are sure to be a warming welcome for 2014!”
