A TWELVE-HOUR dance festival is set to hit West Fife in August.

'In the Woods' is the brainchild of DJ and dance master Ricardo Chicarella and will take place on Saturday 24th August at Waulkmill farm in Charlestown.

Revellers from across Scotland will come to party from 12noon til 12 midnight with the headline act confirmed as DJ and producer Darius Syrossian.

Best of all, the ticket price includes transport, and at 30 they're a bit of a bargain.

Organiser Ricardo told Press:ON, "A lot of people feel that dance music is quite intense, or neddy and banging, but the kind of music we play is quite slow. It's really trendy and it's back in style.

"Everybody thinks it's neon lights and glow sticks, but it's really relaxed.

"It's going to be a chilled afternoon, last year we had people who were never into stuff like that who have already got their tickets for 2013 because they had such a good time."

A DJ himself, Ricardo has been in the job from a young age.

"I've been DJ-ing since I was 15," he says. "I met a group of boys from Falkirk out in Ibiza one year and then went and started a night called 'Funkytown'.

"The idea was just to get guys like these out of their bedrooms and DJ-ing in clubs.

"We wanted to show our friends and people out there that they should come out and have a good time with us.

"Everybody that's involved has always stayed involved and true to the music. That's all it's about, it's not going out and being massive.

"'In the Woods' is designed to appeal to people who want to come out and try something different."
