Rev Richard Coles has shared his excitement about the infamous Strictly Come Dancing spray tan.

The former Communards star, 55, has been gearing up for the BBC1 show alongside the likes of singer Mollie King, actress Gemma Atkinson and Paralympian Jonnie Peacock.

Posting a picture of a backstage dressing room, he wrote on Facebook: “There’s a spray tan TEAM. And (dancing pro) Anton du Beke said I have a ‘good line’. And this is the glamour of backstage.”

Sharing a few other backstage secrets, he also gave fans a glimpse of Strictly pro Pasha Kovalev’s sweaty cycling gear.

For scientific reasons, and the disinterested pursuit of knowledge, I find it expedient to share with you Pasha's cycling kit.

Meanwhile Scottish comedian Sarah Calman, 42, found a new love of dance.

Posting a video from Dirty Dancing, she wrote: “This is me walking to the kitchen this morning. Because the dance has taken over my life. And I love it.”

But Calman said she missed her cats.

“Really quite homesick. FaceTimed the cats,” she wrote. “One was using the other as a pillow. I shouted ‘Mummy loves you’. They were unmoved.”

Strictly Come Dancing bosses have promised a tribute to the late Sir Bruce Forsyth, its former host, when the show kicks off in the autumn.

Some of the pro dancers have also been on social media, with AJ Pritchard writing: “Feeling fresh today.”

Singer Alexandra Burke, soap star Davood Ghadami, former ballerina Debbie McGee, actress Chizzy Akudolu, actor Joe McFadden, TV chef Simon Rimmer, entertainer Brian Conley, former JLS star Aston Merrygold and presenters Ruth Langsford and Charlotte Hawkins will also be taking part in the show.
