THIRTY canaries have been stolen from a home in Kelty.
They were taken from an aviary within the house overnight on Friday.
The birds, which belong to a breeder, are yellow and green and cost around £10 each.
PC Callum Forbes, who is investigating the bird burglary said, "I am appealing to anybody with information regarding this theft to contact the police.
"If you have been offered a canary recently and you suspect it may have been appropriated through crime then please call Fife Police on 0845 600 5702 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where all calls are treated anonymously and you may receive a reward."
