POLICE are investigating Pars fans who ripped out seating and threw a smoke bomb at Saturday's charged meeting with Falkirk.

Central Scotland police confirmed they were looking into incidents that occurred in the away end of the ground during the 2-2 draw.

Sergeant Roy Lake said, "We are currently investigating damage to seating in the North Stand following Falkirk's game against Dunfermline last Saturday.

"Enquires are also being carried out into a smoke bomb that was thrown.

"No person was injured in the incident. Enquires are ongoing." Pars supporters on the club's fans' forum were quick to castigate anyone who played a part in causing any damage.

One commented, "I was ashamed by some of the fans yesterday (Saturday). Thankfully it was the minority but what absolute tools." Another added, "The minority are letting down what was a good away support.

"I don't want to see fans getting chucked out but if they are smashing up seats and throwing flares (the smoke bomb), which if it had fallen short could have injured another supporter, then they should be ejected from the stadium." A third concurred, "It was a stupid and dangerous thing to have done. Luckily it (the smoke bomb) did not fall short and go into the seats at the front."
