TWO sets of road maintenance improvements are scheduled to take place on the M90 over the next two months.

A £1 million programme will see a 1km stretch of the concrete carriageway and two bridges worked on for the next nine weeks near Kinross.

From 7.30pm this Thursday, maintenance works on the northbound carriageway between Junction 5, Gairneybridge and Junction 6, Kinross will be carried out until 6.30am on Saturday, October 17, in order to improve and repair the surface. A contraflow will be in place but no diversion is required.

Works to refurbish the north and south bridges at M90 Junction 6, Kinross, are planned for nine weeks and will begin at 7.30pm on Monday, October 12 until 6.30am on Monday, December 14. During the bridge deck refurbishment, alternate lane closures will be in place on the circulatory carriageway at Junction 6 but again, no diversion is required.

The M90 at Kinross is used by almost 30,000 vehicles a day and the improvements will considerably enhance the safety of the road. For more information, visit Traffic Scotland online or on Twitter.
