STAGECOACH East Scotland have announced the launch of new VIP (Very Independent Person) tickets for the Dunfermline and West Fife area.
The tickets will be launched as a six-month trial in the area from Monday 12th October.
The new VIP tickets will offer 16-, 17- and 18-year-old passengers discounted travel on all Stagecoach bus services in the Dunfermline area, using the existing Stagecoach ticket boundaries.
Young people taking advantage of the trial will benefit from discounted Dunfermline dayrider, dayrider+, megarider and megarider+ tickets. For example, the one-week VIP Dunfermline megarider+ ticket will cost £13.50 compared to a standard adult fare of £19.50.
VIP dayrider tickets can be bought from the driver and VIP megarider tickets, which are valid for 7 days, can be bought from the driver and online at stagecoachbus.com.
Andrew Jarvis, Managing Director, Stagecoach East Scotland said: “We are delighted to be trialling our new VIP tickets in Dunfermline and hope this will encourage more young people to use public transport and try our greener, smarter bus services".
Stagecoach also trialled under 16 megarider tickets in the same area earlier this year offering the Dunfermline and Dunfermline+ megariders for around half the adult fare.
