A DUNFERMLINE man has appeared in court charged with the murder of Duncan Banks.

Steven Thomson, 28, appeared in private at Dunfermline Sheriff Court yesterday where he also faced a further charge of theft. He made no plea or declaration and has been remanded in custody after the case was committed for further examination. He is expected to appear next Thursday or Friday for a full committal.

The body of Mr Banks was found in his Skye Road flat in Abbeyview on September 28. His mother, Dorothy, made a heartfelt appeal for information following his death while police targeted 3,500 homes in the Dunfermline area as part of a leaflet campaign.
