A DUNFERMLINE woman was surprised with the proposal of her dreams when her partner popped the question in Aberdour last week.

Michelle Wilson, 44, and Matt Conway, 52, both from Dunfermline, have been together for nearly 11 years, but only recently started discussing the subject of marriage.

When Matt asked Michelle what her ideal proposal would be, she thought of flowers, violins and a view by the sea – not expecting Matt to make her dreams come true and spring the surprise on her at the Room With A View restaurant in Aberdour last Thursday.

With clear blue skies, the Forth glistening in the background and some beautiful music courtesy of violinist Sandie, the scene was set for the perfect proposal and the Press was on hand to offer congratulations to the happy couple.

“I’m still in shock,” said Michelle. “I thought were were just coming for lunch. I was sitting thinking it was really nice here and it was a lovely view.

“Then Matt went to the toilet and when he came back the violinist appeared and started playing and it just clicked.”

“I was a little bit nervous,” admitted Matt. “It was meant to be just us and then it got a bit busy, the room started filling up.

“We’ve been together 11 years and we’d both been married before, so we’d only recently started talking about it.”

After enjoying their lunch at the restaurant, the happy couple stepped out into the sunshine for photographs and Michelle was still shell-shocked about how her dream day had played out.

Matt joked: “She gave me her requirements: flowers, violins and the sea in the background.”

“He asked me what my ideal proposal would be,” added Michelle. “I was just being a typical girl thinking that would be lovely. I love violin music.

“I wasn’t expecting it, I didn’t have a clue. Not very many people get that, it was like a fairytale. It never happens like that in reality.”
