DRIVERS using the Clackmannanshire Bridge could face delays when essential maintenance work takes place next week.

Essential repairs to parapets on the A876 crossing at Kincardine will take place overnight from this Monday between 7.30pm-6am until Thursday.

The scheme will require alternate lane closures on the north and south carriageways and a contraflow system will be in operation. The road will re-open as normal outwith the time of the works.

Maintenance firm Amey say that carrying out the repairs will "ensure road users experience greater journey time reliability, continued safety and comfort".

The work will alternate between the north and south carriageways as follows: Monday May 2 and Tuesday May 3 - northbound; Wednesday May 4 and Thursday May 5 - southbound.

The northbound footpath will be closed within the vicinity of the work but provision will be made to allow for the safe passage of pedestrians and cyclists.
