POLICE are warning West Fifers not to be hoodwinked by scammers trying to sell them fake TVs.

Over the last week, a group has been going door-to-door across the area, from Dunfermline and Rosyth up to Cowdenbeath, offering television products from the back of a van.

However police are warning that the TVs are not good, safe products and often don't work or have nothing in the box.

Residents are being advised not to buy from anybody going door-to-door selling TVs and if they see anything suspicious, to report it on 101.
