MOTORISTS in Dunfermline are being warned to expect disruption with the start of major roadworks next week.

Resurfacing work is to take place on Hospital Hill and the southbound carriages of Queensferry Road between St. Leonard's Street and Laburnum Road.

The work will be done in stages between Tuesday 31st May and Sunday 19th June and a convoy system will be used at times to control traffic.

Access will be maintained to the car parks on Hospital Hill and there will be restricted access to footway parking during the works. Access for the emergency services will be maintained at all times.

Fife Council has warned motorists to expect delays and use an alternative route is possible. A spokesperson said: "We apologise for any inconvenience and delay caused by these essential works, we’ll try to keep disturbance to a minimum. Your patience and co-operation during this time is greatly appreciated."
