SIX weeks of essential roadworks will begin at Kincardine Bridge on Friday July 1.
Maintenance work costing £215,000 to improve the road surface and bridge deck waterproofing on three spans will start from 9pm and will take place around the clock.
Phase one will mean the southbound lane will close on July 1 and will remain closed for three weeks with traffic flows being regulated by temporary traffic lights.
When the work on that carriageway is finished, the traffic management will be reversed and the northbound lane will close for three weeks.
Drivers can minimal delays of up to 15 minutes at peak times and are being encouraged to plan their journey in advance and visit www.trafficscotland.org for real time traffic information.
Throughout the duration of the works, the pedestrian footways and cycle paths will remain open.
The work will include replacement of the road surface, bridge deck waterproofing and new expansion joints for the viaduct span section.
The maintenance programme has been planned in consultation with Fife Council, Clackmannanshire Council, Stirling Council, Falkirk Council, Police Scotland and Traffic Scotland.
