A COWDENBEATH mum turned off the power to “provoke” her partner who was in the bathroom then got into a fight with him.

Katherine Dillon, 44, of 201 Broad Street, admitted that on December 28 last year at her address, she behaved in a threatening or abusive manner and engaged in a fight with her partner.

Dunfermline Sheriff Court heard last Wednesday that Dillon and her partner had lived at the property for four years.

Fiscal depute Fiona Nairn said Dillon had returned home around 7pm. Her partner was having a bath and stayed in the bathroom for about 45 minutes.

Dillon turned off the electricity to provoke him. He then went into the hall and she went speak to him and they became involved in a fight, with both shouting and pushing.

Ms Nairn continued: “The accused said she wanted him to leave and get out of the way. He tried to grab a bag and put some of his belongings in it to leave but another fight broke out.

“There was a struggle lasting about 30 seconds before the accused's daughter phoned the police.”

Solicitor James Moncrieff said: “Both parties were charged by the police. Both were involved in this incident.

“She is someone, who, while not having a extensive record, has one analogous conviction.

“There have been no further incidents since this occasion. Both are keen to deal with the issues in their relationship.”

Mr Moncrieff revealed that “there are certain issues that need to be addressed”, including alcohol abuse.

Sheriff Charles Macnair deferred sentence until October 5 for Dillon to be of good behaviour, and for her to engage in a structured deferred sentence.
