A SHOPLIFTER who stole a bottle of scent worth £118 from Debenhams in Dunfermline was also found to be carrying knives.
Richard Martin, 30, appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court for sentencing on Wednesday.
He admitted that on March 8 at Debenhams, he stole footwear and a bottle of aftershave; and did, without reasonable excuse of lawful authority, have with him a quantity of craft knives and blades.
Fiscal depute Azrah Yousaf said there was full recovery of the scent.
Solicitor Chris Sneddon said Martin, of Cath House, York Place, Perth, had “very little by way of a record”.
He added: “He has two fiscal fines and it appears from the social work report that he would benefit from some degree of structure and that supervision would be appropriate.”
Sheriff Craig McSherry imposed a community payback order of 12 months with supervision.
He also ordered Martin to attend alcohol treatment as directed by the supervising officer.
