A WOMAN had a lucky escape after her car overturned in an accident on the M90 yesterday (Tuesday).

The woman had been trapped after her MG Midget ended up on its roof in the accident, which occurred just after 6.50pm at the slip road of Junction 2 northbound.

Emergency services, including two fire engines from Dunfermline and one from Lochgelly, rushed to the scene.

Fire crews helped to safely remove the woman from the car and she was given oxygen before being taken to the Victoria Hospital. She sustained injuries but but they are not believed to be serious.

Police confirmed that the MG had been travelling westbound and only one car was involved in the incident.

Officers closed the slip road off the M90 onto the A823 and diverted northbound traffic towards Halbeath.

Fire crews left the scene just after 7.40pm, with the car recovered from the roadside around 7.50pm. The road was reopened around 9pm.
