A SERIAL flasher already serving a prison sentence will have to spend further time behind bars for exposing himself on cycle paths in Dunfermline.

Dale James O’Leary, 21, committed the offences over two years while still a teenager – with one of his victims targeted twice.

O’Leary, of no fixed abode, admitted that on April 5, 2011, at the cycle path adjacent to Myers Court, he intentionally exposed his genitals in a sexual manner to a woman, with the intention that she would see them, in that he undid his belt and trousers and exposed his erect penis.

He then did the same on June 25, 2013, at the cycle path to the north of Halbeath Road, this time exposing himself to another woman.

On August 5, 2013, again at the cycle path adjacent to Myers Court, he intentionally engaged in a sexual activity in the presence of the first woman, in that he undid his belt and trousers, placed his hand inside his underwear and touched his genitals. The latter two offences were committed on bail.

Solicitor Chris Sneddon told Dunfermline Sheriff Court last Wednesday that O’Leary was serving a sentence for another matter.

Mr Sneddon said: “He was very young at the first offence and still young when he committed the other offences.

"As a result of the offence that he’s been convicted of, he’s had a very difficult time in custody and is finding it extremely unpleasant.”

Sheriff Charles Macnair slammed the “serious nature” of O’Leary’s offending, and “the impact it had on your victims”.

He sentenced O’Leary to 160 days in jail, to run consecutively to his current jail term.

O’Leary will also be on the sex offenders’ register for seven years.
