A LOCHGELLY man turned up at his parents' home, verbally abused them and started throwing food around.

Scott Dalgleish, 25, of of Flat 6, 86 Main Street, admitted that on March 9 2015 at an address in Cobden Court, Crossgates, he behaved in a threatening or abusive manner, shouted and swore, uttered threats of violence, and throw various household items and foodstuff.

He also admitted that on July 15 this year, at his address, he behaved in a threatening or abusive manner, played excessively loud music and failed to desist. Committed the offence while on bail.

Dunfermline Sheriff Court heard last Wednesday that Dalgleish had gone to his parents' home, entered the kitchen and started throwing food around.

Whilst in the kitchen he verbally abused his dad, saying, “I saw that c*** shaking his head,” and continued throwing food on the floor.

He then shouted, “I will knock your lights out, I will finish you off.”

Police were contacted and Dalgleish was taken to Dunfermline Police Station.

When cautioned and charged, he replied: “It was non-aggressive. It was a disgraceful form of treatment. It was not anger.”

The second offence occurred around 10am, when witnesses heard loud music playing.

Fiscal depute Craig Donald said: “It's unclear how long that went on for but it was noted that members of the public knocked on the window.

“The window was opened and a neighbour asked him to stop playing the music but he continued.”

Police were again called and Dalgleish was taken to Dunfermline Police Station, where he was cautioned and charged.

Solicitor Chris Sneddon said Dalgleish had walked to his parents' address to try and get food.

He said: “The position is that his father did not wish him to be there and thereafter he behaved as indicated.”

Mr Sneddon added that Dalgleish had got on well initially with his neighbour but there had been a falling-out.

Sheriff Charles Macnair imposed a community payback order with two years' supervision, and 100 hours of unpaid work, to be completed within three months.
