Eyewitnesses have reported at least four fire engines at the scene close to the chippy following an incident at around 8pm tonight (Sunday).
They reported a smell of smoke close to the scene but no smoke or flames were visible.
Crews blocked the entrance to the City Hotel car park in the centre of Dunfermline while the incident was dealt with.
