THIEVES broke into a Dunfermline pub in the early hours of Friday morning and stole charity collection boxes.
The Wood Mill on Woodmill Road was targeted by robbers between approximately 11pm on Friday and 9.30am on Saturday.
Two charity boxes, sitting on the bar top at the time, were taken from the pub along with 17 bottles of alcohol, ranging from champagne to spirits.
Dean Melville, managing director of Kingdom Taverns, said: "I've been in the trade for 30 years and after speaking to the police officer at the time, it looks as though it wasn't planned and they just took their chance to see what they could get and grab whatever they saw.
"They were extremely opportunist and it was really a smash and grab. The window was smashed on both sides, they could've been in and out in 30 seconds."
Police are appealing for any witnesses to call Police Scotland on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
