FIFE COUNCIL has blamed "operational difficulties" for not being able to empty some householders' bins in West Fife today (Wednesday).
A service update released earlier this afternoon read: "There is currently disruption to bin collection services in North-East Fife and West Fife due to operational difficulties.
"If your bin is not emptied on its collection day then please leave on the kerbside and we will empty these on the following day.
"We apologise for any inconvenience that this causes."
The council has been forced to apologise for disruption to bin collection services twice already this summer, blaming staffing problems earlier this month and vehicle breakdowns last month.
