West Fife women hit by unfair state pension changes can speak their local MP and MSP about the their concerns at an event on Friday(16th September).

Douglas Chapman MP and Shirley-Anne Somerville MSP will hold a coffee morning at The Hub cafe in Dunfermline High Street at 11am to meet and listen to constituents.

The event will be part of a national day of action seeking to put pressure on the UK government to address the issue of women who have been badly effected by changes to the state pension age.

Mr Chapman, MP for Dunfermline and West Fife, said: "I'm delighted that Shirley-Anne and I are getting together to meet and listen to the women from across West Fife to see how we can continue to help and support their campaign.

"Many women in my constituency have contacted me about the pension inequality that is being forced upon them by the Westminster government, and they are really frustrated and upset about the unfairness of the issue."

Ms Somerville, MSP for Dunfermline, added: "Women across Fife have been badly affected by changes made to their state pension age, without any notification at all.

"The failure of the Westminster government to notify these woman has placed a terrible burden on them - they been effectively stripped of their pensions and left to pick up the pieces themselves.

"So I'm delighted to meet and support local women in the WASPI campaign and wish them all the best as they continue to demand their rightful state pension from Westminster."
