A DUNFERMLINE family is celebrating five generations of females after they welcomed the birth of their newest member.
The Downies now have five generations of all females after great-granddaughter Stacey Dowie gave birth to her second child, a daughter.
There are 95 years between eldest female member Agnes Gedrim and her great-great-granddaughter, Orla Downie, who was born on September 2 at the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy.
The second generation began with great-grandmother, Doris Downie, 64, and then grandmother Vivienne Downie, 41.
Stacy Downie, 24, gave birth to her son five years ago but her baby daughter marks the start of five generations of strong women.
Dorris Downie, second generation member, said: "We are over the moon to have Orla join our family, she is gorgeous and we are thrilled to bits that there are now five generations of females in our family."
The close-knit family have never moved too far from each other, living in Dunfermline, Townhill and High Valleyfield.
Agnes Gedrim, 95, moved to the Matthew Fyfe Care Home in May and her home is very much the centre of family life.
Dorris Downie, said: "Family is everything to us. We are always here for each other and I am very happy that we have stayed so close."
