A footbridge at Brankholm Burn will be built to connect Hilton Garden City with Camdean.

The site will be to the west Of Camdean Primary School on Admiralty Road, Rosyth.

Two weeks ago it was reported in The Press that families has called for action over the Rosyth road.

They said they were putting themselves in danger crossing the burn.

Concerns were raised over the road a year ago but no proposals were put forward.

Backed by MP Douglas Chapman, Councillor Sharron Wilson believed a solution was long overdue and said a bridge or walkway over the burn was a desperately needed safety measure.

Developer Kapital Residential Ltd said their intention has always been to add a network of paths across the development but planning permission was declined after six Camdean residents rejected the proposals.

Now that their application has been approved, Kapital hope the pedestrian link will produce a steady movement of people increasing

the possibilities of adaptation of the site with its surroundings.

However, the footpath will only be temporary as the site going in to Camdean is still under development and under separate ownership.

The owner of that site, currently Fife Housing Association, will then be responsible for a permanent solution to the footpath.
