ST LEONARD'S Primary School celebrated the 100-year anniversary of Roald Dahl's birth by dressing up as characters from his books.
The fancy dress day raised £270 for the Roald Dahl Marvellous Children's charity.
Chris Wilmshurst, Primary 6 and 7 teacher, said: "Pupils and staff alike had a fantastic day and there was whole range of characters from Willy Wonka, Oompa Loompas and Fantastic Mr Fox parading around the school."
Each class was given a famous book of Dahl's for lots of literacy activities including designing their own book covers.
Primary 5 also ran their own Charlie and the Chocolate Factory cafe, offering lots of delicious treats to raise cash.
Mr Wilmshurst said: "We had a prize for the best costume in each class but everyone looked great, including headteacher, Mrs Reid, who came as Miss Trunchbull!
"There was a great atmosphere."
Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity helps to make life better for seriously ill children in the UK by supporting them and their families.
