Kingseat dance troupe 'Instinct' have been chosen to open and close the Alton Towers' Hallowe'en Scarefest show.

The spooky event at one of the UK's most popular theme parks is on Sunday October 30 and is set to attract thousands of people.

Dance troupe teacher, Syrian McKenna said: "We've been booked for some great events this year including Dance Moms UK, winning Scottish champions for Dance Challenge and now we have been booked for Alton Towers.

"The show's organisers booked us after they had seen us performing at another gig.

"I don't want to give too much away on what we'll be doing but I can say the theme is Beetlejuice!"

Instinct is part of the On Pointe performing arts team and is made up of 16 girls, aged 6-22, who had to audition to be part of the prestigious group.

Syrian said: "They train two times a week and the commitment they have is just fantastic.

"Especially the older girls who work full time and will travel a long way just to get to practices and events, they are great role models for the younger girls.

"There isn't really a particular standard that they have to reach to be chosen, rather I'm asking can they bring a little sparkle to the team.

"Each dancer brings something different. Some are great gymnasts, others are great at lifts and ballet work and one girl is a great street dancer so together they have all these different skills that make them a great team."
