A SPECIAL concert is being held at the Carnegie Hall next Wednesday for charity.

The group Singing Children of Africa will perform on the night and is made up of 29 youngsters who receive food, schooling and supplies through the charity Educate the Kids.

It was set up by an Edinburgh woman and they have so far built a school, nursery and orphanage as well as providing education.

Sambangra drumming group and Fife Academy of Performing Arts are the support acts on the night, with all three groups joining together for a special final song to cap off the night.

Carnegie Hall reduced their hall hire cost to show support for the concert, but the group still needs to raise funds to pay for it, despite an anonymous donation of £500 being made already.

A further £500 is still required to pay for the hall and the group have arranged fundraising events to help raise money.

On Tuesday next week there will be a display at the Kingsgate Centre in Dunfermline with raffle tickets for sale as well as some handmade crafts, before the children sing for various periods between 1pm to 4pm the following day.

Tickets for the concert can be bought in the Kingsgate outside Debenhams on Tuesday and Wednesday and from The Sweet Stop on James Street on the night.
