A DUNFERMLINE couple are set to be stars on TV’s A Place in the Sun.

Husband and wife Chris and Anne-Marie McNeill have just returned from filming in sunny Tenerife with presenter Laura Hamilton, after being chosen to appear out of hundreds of hopefuls.

Anne-Marie, who owns Glow beauty salon in Dunfermline, said: “We were at the SSE Hydro in October when they were doing screen tests, and by the next week they were filming at our house, so we were a bit shocked.

“Channel 4 gave the thumbs up and then we were flown out for five days, all expenses paid.

“They said we were chosen because we were a bit different. Chris suffers from bronchiectasis, which is a chronic lung disease, and I own a business.

“Having a place abroad is an escape for us and the heat helps Chris’ lungs.”

Anne-Marie has owned the Glow beauty salon for the last three-and-a-half years after a 20-year career in retail management.

The business moved to a bigger property in Linburn Road recently and employs 20 staff.

Anne-Marie added: “I built the business up from scratch, but I always wanted to own my own place and the opportunity arose.

“Being abroad helps me switch off more and Chris has had to give up work now, so it takes us away from everything for a while.

“Filming was absolutely brilliant and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

“It’s a bit different to what you think and you end up doing about 10 shots of just walking into a property.

“We love Tenerife and we hope to be back soon.”

Viewers will get to see whether Chris and Anne-Marie found their dream place abroad when A Place in the Sun airs in February.
