DOGS that are trained to find dead bodies have joined the search for missing Corrie McKeague.

They have been scouring Bury St Edmunds town centre, where the Dunfermline serviceman disappeared nearly four months ago, on September 24.

Writing on the 'Find Corrie' Facebook page, mum Nicola Urquhart said authorised searchers from Suffolk Lowland Search and Rescue will use the dogs in the town centre of Bury St Edmunds.

She said: "It’s with mixed emotions that I can let you know the police have authorised SULSAR to use cadaver dogs in specific areas in the town centre, I will update you once this has been completed."

She posted the comment on the page, which has more than 100,000 members, after receiving enquiries from concerned supporters.

There was success after a new CCTV appeal last week sought to identify the small number of people that still had not been traced the morning that Corrie went missing.

Of the images that were released, two were identified and are assisting police, two more have possible identities for the police to investigate and only one remains unnamed. This is an older person who looks like they are wearing glasses.

The images showed individuals in Bury St Edmunds town centre between 3.15am and 5.20am, close to the time of the last confirmed sighting of Corrie at 3.25am.

Nicola said: "This is something that we are working together on with Suffolk Police Major Investigations Team so that we can get all images of every person still unidentified out to those that maybe don’t have access to internet.

"The details of where and when will be provided as soon as we have them all confirmed."

Corrie was separated from friends while leaving the Flex nightclub on St Andrews Street South.

He was last seen in Bury St Edmunds town centre on CCTV at 3.25am wearing a light pink Ralph Lauren shirt, white jeans and brown suede Timberland boots with light soles.

The last sighting shows him walking from a shop doorway and into a horseshoe-shaped area in Brentgovel Street, with no sign of him re-emerging.
