BOTTLE banks in West Fife may be in overdraft as Fife Council struggle to empty them.

The authority has admitted there might be "some issues" around emptying the banks after "several breakdowns" of bin lorries.

Within the last hour, the council issued an advisory message which read: "Due to several breakdowns in our glass collection vehicles, residents may experience some issues around the uplift of glass from Recycling Points.

"We are making every effort to provide alternative vehicles and will empty the bins as soon as possible."
