ROSYTH councillor Sharon Wilson has welcomed a promise by Stagecoach bosses to “look again” at a decision to remove a Rosyth bus route.

Back in September, the Press reported that Camdean residents were having to wait for up to an hour to use the number seven bus service after the number 19 was withdrawn in August.

Affected local residents had the chance to have their say this week at a ‘Stagecoach Surgery’ which had been organised by Councillor Wilson and was attended by Stagecoach East boss John Oakey.

Councillor Wilson was happy with the way the meeting went and told the Press: “He promised to take another look at the changes made last year.

“This was a good opportunity for the community and Stagecoach to talk to each other and it was very positive.

“We now await feedback from Stagecoach East who are happy to attend a follow-up meeting to discuss the outcome of their reappraisal of local services.”

Jon Oakey, acting managing director for Stagecoach East Scotland, said they would now consider what issues were raised at the meeting.

“I would like to thank Councillor Sharon Wilson for inviting me to attend a community meeting in Rosyth on Wednesday 11 January, as we’re committed to serving the local community and it’s always great to receive direct feedback from our customers,” he said.

“A number of comments and suggestions were raised and we are now reviewing the feedback to consider any potential service developments.

“I will look forward to a further meeting with Councillor Wilson in the coming months to discuss the issues raised in more detail.”
