Trains between West Fife and Edinburgh are delayed or cancelled due to a person being hit by a train on the Dalmeny line.
As a result of this incident, services between Edinburgh and Fife are disrupted.
ScotRail have confirmed that the line has now reopened but they are expecting some delays throughout the evening.
Valid rail tickets are currently being accepted on Lothian and Stagecoach East buses.
A spokesman for ScotRail said: “Due to a person being struck by a train at Dalmeny, services between Edinburgh and Fife are currently disrupted. The line has just reopened, however, we expect there to be some disruption throughout the evening peak.
“Anyone delayed over 30 minutes should keep hold of their tickets, as they will be eligible for compensation under our Delay Repay scheme.”
ScotRail have requested replacement buses from both Inverkeithing and Edinburgh.
Three buses are expected from Edinburgh between 3pm and 4pm.
Two buses will be going to Inverkeithing for 3.30pm.
