THE owner of the newly-opened Little World of Play has expressed her anger after their new centre was broken into.

The play facility on Cuddyhouse Road opened just over two weeks ago and owner Jen Rippin was devastated to discover this morning that they had been targeted by thieves.

"They have pulled the bars off the windows and stolen bits and pieces," she said.

"Thankfully the main play area is absolutely fine. It's the staff only areas they have gone into and they have made a mess of the reception.

"They have kicked the doors and broken the doors. Some of them weren't even locked but they have kicked them into two bits."

Among items which have been taken were the centre's cordless hoover, a laptop and a projector.

The thieves even stole CCTV cameras which had been due to be installed today however Jen took immediate measures to resolve this and a new system was fitted as a matter of urgency.

"It is all the damage they have done but the police have been really good and we managed to clean up."

Despite the frustration of having to have all the damage fixed, Jen, who runs Little World of Play with husband Peter, was pleased the thieves didn't prevent them from opening.

"It has been going really well and we have had a lot of support," she added.

"People are travelling from all over and it has been great. This is a minor blip!"

A spokesman for Police Scotland confirmed they were investigating a break-in which took place overnight between Wednesday and Thursday.
