A MAN has been left with a hefty fine to pay after wrecking the bathroom of the Middle Bar, in Crossgates, for no reason.

Mark McPhee caused £215 worth of damage and then left before police were called. He was quickly found in the street with a friend and began shouting insults at officers.

McPhee, 25, of Braemar Drive, Dunfermline, previously admitted that on April 12, 2014, at Middle Bar, he did without reasonable excuse, wilfully or recklessly destroy or damage the property belonging to another and did smash a window, detach a hand towel holder and toilet roll holder from a wall, and smash a light bulb.

He also admitted to behaving on the same day, at Main Street, in a threatening or abusive manner which was likely to cause a reasonable person to suffer fear or alarm in that he did act in an aggressive manner, shout, swear, repeatedly utter threats of violence and offensive remarks and repeatedly kick a cage within a police vehicle.

Defence solicitor, Mr Raff, said his client caused the damage for reasons completely unknown and his cousins were annoyed at his behaviour.

McPhee was order to pay £215 in compensation to the Middle Bar and fined £375.
