A BALLINGRY man who turned on police officers trying to help him was sentenced with 70 hours unpaid work at Dunfermline Sheriff Court on Wednesday.
Matthew Aitken, 25, of Martin Crescent, Ballingry, previously admitted that on November 8, 2016, at Marmion Road, Lochore, he did behave in a threatening or abusive manner which was likely to cause a reasonable person to suffer fear or alarm in that he did repeatedly shout, swear and struggle with police officers.
Depute fiscal, Alastair Shaw, said: "Police attended the address to find an individual lying on the ground. He then got on his feet but his words were slurred. After police rang an ambulance, the accused became violent towards officers and had to be hand cuffed. He stated that the could not remember the incident after."
Along with 70 hours unpaid work Aitken was also placed on a supervision order for 12 months.
