OBJECTIONS to an upgrade for a road leading to a new 100-home estate in Cairneyhill have been set aside by Fife Council.
There was opposition to proposed works on Pitdinnie Road, which leads to Forrester Park Golf Resort and Avant Homes’ development.
The firm is working with the golf club’s Robert Forrester and received permission to build on land south of Pitdinnie Farm last month.
As part of the development of 100 homes, an application to upgrade Pitdinnie Road was also tabled.
It was met with nine objections, including letters from the Cairneyhill Residents Group and Muir Homes Ltd.
Concerns included a loss of on-street parking, a risk of flooding, not enough room to widen the road and extra traffic.
Last week, councillors on the South West Fife area committee felt the objections “had all been satisfactorily addressed” and gave the works the go-ahead.
A statement added: “The final roads construction consent will be issued once the required financial bond, to cover the cost of the works, has been lodged with the council.”
