NEW speed limits will be implemented in the Ferrytoll area as part of the Queensferry Crossing project.

All vehicles except buses and service vehicles will also be banned from the bus turning circle at Ferrytoll Park – there’s a new access road to the park and ride – and the type of vehicles that can use the bus lanes on Hope Street, Inverkeithing, will be restricted.

The changes are part of a traffic regulation order approved by Fife Council last week.

Councillors at the South West Fife area committee were told the realignment of Castlandhill Road, Ferrytoll Interchange roundabout and the B981 to North Queensferry, all to do with the new bridge, meant an existing 40mph speed limit was redundant.

The new 40mph speed restrictions will affect Dunfermline Wynd, Castlandhill Road, King Malcolm Drive, Milne Road, Ferry Toll Road and the Ferrytoll Interchange roundabout.
