A woman has been taken to hospital after a two car road traffic collision at the junction of Baldridgeburn and Miller Road, Dunfermline, this afternoon.

The female driver was treated at the scene by paramedics while the car was cut open on the driver's side to give access to the female by fire services.

The male driver of the other car, a white Nissan, was described as looking "shocked" by eyewitnesses, but had already out of the vehicle prior to emergency services arriving.

Fire and ambulance crews raced to the scene of the crash, which happened at 2.57pm and the female driver was taken to hospital at approximately 4.15pm.

Miller Road has been closed by police.

Andy Bennett, Station Manager at Dunfermline Fire Station, said: "This was a two car accident. Our team had to use cutting equipment to take the roof of the vehicle off, due to possible neck and spinal injuries.

"It was quite a bump where the front and side doors of the vehicle were inaccessible.

"The lady has been taken to Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy. She was quite badly injured but hopefully she will be ok."
