PLANS for a revamp of Dunfermline’s Bull Park look set to come to fruition after a double funding boost.
A total of £40,000 has been allocated from Fife Council and an application for £10,000 from the Awards for All scheme has also been successful.
Milesmark and Baldridge Community Council’s Linda Ferris said: “It makes a huge difference. We are only a few thousand short for what we need to do for our plans.
"Phase one is the picnic area, the bulbs and tree planting and the entrances and phase two is the play equipment.”
They hope to paint the existing play equipment as well as instal a trampoline, large slide and a timber trail. They will then look to secure funding for further additions.
“We’re really keen to look at the history of the area, especially the mining,” she added.
“The miners used to play quoits there and there’s a wee burn at the bottom so maybe a dipping platform. Fairy houses for the trees too but these are nice things for phase three.”
